Urban development, architecture, wind engineering, tunnel analysis, aerodynamics, and performance sports are all fields that have historically been limited by the expertise required to perform complex computations and often set up through software that has high licensing costs. This combined with the limited computational power of local machines, brings the average time required to run a wind study to a minimum of 3-5 days.
Nablaflow has developed a software, in which the whole process can be done automatically from the upload of the model to the post-processed result in less than a day. Nablaflow seeks to redesign the way wind simulations are seen, executed, and used. They are actively implementing technologies from different fields like machine learning, automation, cloud development, optimization, parametrization, and generative design. All to redesign the way wind simulations are seen, executed, and used via a cloud-based platform.
The tools used and developed within NablaFlow are based on NablaCore. NablaCore is a scalable, seamless, web-based technology built on OpenFoam and deployed on different cloud computing platforms. Customers can access the software simply by creating an account online and paying per simulation.

Nablaflow’ key customers include honorable clients such as Pinarello, Bianchi, KASK, Belgian Cycling Factory, Automobili Estrema, Bioracer, INEOS, Olympiatoppen, AIBEL.
The core team at Nablaflow comes with an extensive and technical background in aerodynamics. Both Luca and Knut Erik hold a PhD in Aerodynamics and more than 20 years of experience each in the field. The technical part of the team holds MSc in either Mechanical engineering or Economics with a variety of experience ranging from venture development and funding processes to delivery, industry partnerships and technology maturation.
Unique selling point
The unique selling point of Nablaflow is the usability and the computing power, which translates to quicker results. Using Nablaflow’ solutions requires minimal technical competence, except for basic aerodynamic knowledge. Due to the AWS servers employed in their solution, an unlimited amount of simulations can be run at the same time.
Nablaflow looks to enhance their Asia connection, and in this endeavor they are looking for clients, funding, and the exchange of new ideas across the East Asian region.
