Problem

One of the greatest challenges of modern medicine is cardiac arrhythmias. The most common arrhythmia is atrial fibrillation which exists in around 2% of the world’s population, and causes 30% of all strokes worldwide. Correctly diagnosing arrhythmias is challenging as arrhythmias come and go during the week and you need to record an ECG exactly when the arrhythmia is happening.

SOLUTION

MedBeat has developed a modern, user-friendly and non-invasive device that measures ECG signals anytime and anywhere. Once attached to the user’s chest, the device is able to monitor and record cardiac activity without interruptions for at least 7 days, which provides a comprehensive medical insight and superior clinical accuracy. After 7 days, the user simply mail the device back to MedBeat, who employ a set of advanced algorithms and artificial intelligence-based tools to accurately identify anomalies or diseases.

KEY CUSTOMERS AND INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE

MedBeat works with hospitals, primary healthcare centers and private customers. By shipping the small, user-friendly device directly to the user, MedBeat is able to offer its service to customers all over the world. As cardiac arrhythmia unfortunately is a prevalent problem across many demographic segments, MedBeat’s solution caters to everyone - from elders, professional athletes, chronically ill and many more.

Team

MedBeat’s team includes experienced professionals from both healthcare and technology, dedicated to optimize the diagnostic processes of cardiac symptoms and proactively work to prevent future strokes or diseases.

Unique selling point

MedBeat’s solution is making cardiac healthcare accessible by combining flexibility, comfort and non-compromising accuracy into a single device. MedBeat replaces conventional 24h ECG-recorders (Holter monitors) and is a non-invasive alternative to implantable loop recorders.

Asia Connection

MedBeat’s founder Erik Rask has first-hand experience from the Japanese healthcare system working on clinical rotation as a medical doctor within cardiology and heart surgery, in Japan. Today, MedBeat is convinced that their company and product can be of great interest in Asian markets, which is why they are looking for potential investors and partners to help explore this opportunity.
