Problem
The manual task of cutting and handling materials on site in the construction industry is often time-consuming, and a major reason for projects being delayed and exceeding budget. Furthermore, these practices require a lot of repetitive work that expose construction workers to severe health and safety concerns.
SOLUTION
Kobots has developed a mobile cutting robot, Amigo, which automates cutting processes via an app or through voice-control. The Amigo platform is designed for on-site use in the construction industry, making the cutting process both faster and easier. The robot not only provides significant efficiency gains by improving the speed and accuracy of the cutting and the subsequent placing of the processed building boards and tiles, it also reduces materials waste by ensuring more precise cutting and algorithmic monitoring of surplus material. In fact, the calculated productivity gains in specific work tasks supported by the Amigo robot is 200-600%. Additionally, the automated cutting ensures the retainment of senior workers, who often suffer from work related ailments in joints and muscles.
